Amanda Nelson

Amanda grew up in Overland Park, KS, has 2 older sisters and one adorable niece. Her parents are from Milwaukee, WI so she was raised a cheesehead, Go Pack Go! She found her lifelong love of fitness through playing soccer. Amanda was part of a ten time winning Kansas State Cup Championship club soccer team, she was inducted to the Saint Thomas Aquinas High School soccer hall of fame and had a Division 1 soccer career at Bowling Green State University. What made her not only physically tough but mentally tough was overcoming 7 ankle surgeries and a torn ACL during her soccer career. Overcoming injuries, learning how to regain strength, and adapt to many obstacles is what made her fall in love with the connection of human movement, fitness, and the overall health of individuals. Amanda graduated from BGSU with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. After college Amanda spent many years in Kansas working in the fitness industry from personal training, directing kids activities, managing, coaching high school soccer, and teaching group fitness classes before moving to Nashville, TN with her sister. Amanda spent 2 years in Nashville nannying and teaching youth sports classes. She came back to Kansas and had a brief career as a medical assistant in an orthopedic clinic before coming back to the fitness industry. She most recently was teaching group fitness classes at Health House, TITLE Boxing Club and Woodside before finding her home at 2020FIT. Amanda is now a native of Prairie Village and when she is not working out she enjoys coaching youth soccer, being outdoors, babysitting, and hanging out with her boyfriend Tory and black lab Jordy.
